About National Capital Region Emergency Response

The National Capital Region (NCR) is a collection of sovereign jurisdictions, including cities, counties, states, and the District of Columbia. The NCR is not an operational entity because emergency response is a local function. 

About National Capital Region CERT Consortium

The goal of the National Capital Region CERT Consortium (NCRCC) is to educate and provide networking opportunities to enhance collaboration among the region’s CERT teams and other organizations.

In more technical terms: The purpose of the Corporation is to act as a regional consortium of Community Emergency
Response Teams of the greater National Capital Region, serving as a collaborative organization
for best Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) practices, training, conferences and
CERT-related materials.
